Lenovo Announces the Release Date of Its Yoga Laptop and Other ‘Convertible’ Products

Lenovo has announced prices and release date for its new Yoga laptop with a 360 degrees foldable screen and unveiled other ‘convertible’ models— ThinkPad Twist, Twist, a folding laptop and IdeaTab Lynx tablet powered by Windows RT.

The range leader, Yoga features a 13.3-inch screen 1,600 x 900 resolution and a keyboard of a regular laptop which automatically disables itself, when the display is folded to 180 degrees and Yoga becomes a tablet. It’s equipped with either an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of solid-state storage. Yoga comes in silver and clementine orange finishes, weighs 3.4 pounds and 0.67 of an inch thick. The battery life is 7 hours. The price starts at $1,099.

The 11-inch Yoga with 1,366 x 768 screen resolution runs on Windows RT operating system, which was developed for devices that run on ARM-based chips. This OS allows improve power efficiency—the Yoga device boasts of 13 hours of battery life. The Yoga 11 weighs 2.3 pounds and is 0.61 of an inch thick. It can be configured up to 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The price starts at $799.

The 11 IdeaTab Lynx is one of the new PC range based on Intel’s new Atom mobile processor, nicknamed ‘Clover Trail’ and based on ARM chips. The Lynx weighs 1.41 pounds, is 0.37 of an inch thick, and allows users to enjoy it eight hours long without recharging. Storage is either 32 or 64GB and can be extended via a microSD card. The Lynx costs $599. The full keyboard comes as a dock and costs extra $149, though adds extra eight hours of battery life.

ThinkPad Twist is another new model oriented on solving business and education tasks. It’s a 12.5 inches screen PC with an Intel Core processor inside which sports a monitor that rotates horizontally and folds back over the keyboard. The screen is and it’s protected by Gorilla Glass. It can be equipped with a hard drive of up to 500GB but solid-state drives are available as well. It weighs 3.48 pounds and is 0.79 of an inch thick and starts at $849. For these money you get a computer stuffed with software tools for small business as well as cloud storage.

The Yoga 13 and Twist will be available with the launch of Windows 8 on October 26, while the Yoga 11 and Lynx will hit the stores in December.
