Louis Vuitton Partners with a Singaporean Art School

Louis Vuitton announced partnership with The School of the Arts (Sota) in Singapore to develop a visual arts program for its students. LV will donate a six-figure sum to the initiative, which is expected to benefit at least 60 of Sota’s visual arts students over three years.

According to Luxury Insider, the program commences next year and will include seminars and workshops in different art areas, which will be open to students and the public. Besides, a select group of visual arts students will have an opportunity to learn from an invited artist and attend relevant design festivals overseas.

Sota will itself decide who to invite and the details of the program are also up to the school. A pre-tertiary specialized arts school offers a six-year course for students between the ages of 13 and 18. This is LV’s first such partnership with a school in the region.

At a press conference announcing the partnership, Jean-Baptiste Debains, President of LV Asia Pacific, also provided further details about LV’s flagship boutique at Marina Bay Sands, which opens in September. The opening is the first island concept store of the luxury brand, and will offer mens- and womenswear, as well as serve as a bookstore and contemporary art gallery. Mr Debains also said that Sota art students’work may be exhibited not only at Sota’s art gallery, but in the upcoming store.

LV supports different art projects and launched the REcreative online hub for young artists.
