Mango Taps Kate Moss as the Face of Its SS2012 Campaign

Kate Moss fronts the latest Mango’s campaign promoting the brand’s SS2012 collection, full of bright colours and inspired by the 60s looks and trends. The fashion celebrity posed in the new apparel for the photo shoot and starred in a commercial dubbed Spy Game, which was directed by acclaimed photographer Terry Richardson. The advert, in which Kate is trying on several outfits for different occasions while being watched by somebody through the window, will be aired internationally, in forty counties including France, Germany, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and the UK in early March.

I’m really excited to be working with Mango for S/S 2012, we had a great time shooting the campaign, the team were so easy to work with and shooting with Terry is always fun,” commented Kate Moss, who replaced Scarlett Johansson as the face and body of Mango (the Hollywood beauty was with the brand for three years, 2009-2011). Still, the brand doesn’t say if the fashion diva will be featured in the new season’s promotion. The Spanish apparel and accessories brand, which opened its first store in Barcelona in 1984 and now runs over 2,400 in 107 countries, collaborated with a roster of international fashion icons and A-list actresses including Penelope Cruz, Milla Jovovich, Lizzy Jagger, Karolina Kurkova, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Claudia Schiffer and Diane Kruger in its previous campaigns.

The new season Mango trends include graphic contrasts between clean and unstructured lines with a clear 60’s influence, particularly in the dresses. Lightweight, pleated and gathered fabrics offer movement and present a fresh, flirty and feminine touch. Mango is also introducing a more casual line, bringing together ethnic elements and blending them with sportswear details to give a very simple, strong urban look. Tie-dye, abstract prints and patchwork in indigo and yellow tones with unwashed effects reinforce the casual appeal,” writes in the description to the video, which is posted below.
