Monthly Package Design News Roundup: April

More than a dozen brilliant package design projects landed in our editorial inbox over the last month. Browse them through in a brief recap below.

1. The Paris-based agency Raison Pure has created the new branding and packaging design for Gayelorf Hauser, a French diet nutrition brand.

2. California-based McLean Design has developed the brand strategy, identity and packaging design for the high end baking company with Italian heritage, DiBella.

3. London design agency Carter Wong has rebranded Unilever’s global ice cream brand Cornetto.

4.  The London office of global brand and design agency Blue Marlin has created a brand platform via packaging for the start-up gin company, Warner Edwards. Their premium gin, distilled on a Northamptonshire farm, became available to purchase online at the end of last year, and has just launched in retail outlets in the U.K.

5. Another project by the New York Blue Marlin’s studio—the redesign of a Portland-based brand gDiapers, reflecting its eco-friendly nature. The international rollout hit shelves in April in the USA, Canada and Europe.

6.  Springetts Brand Design Consultants has optimised the branding and pack design for the core and Indulgence Options ranges to broaden the brand’s appeal.

7. The same agency, Springetts has repositioned and redesigned Cuprinol, water-based fence treatments. Based on the brand idea of “Brighter Outsides”, the new look features an ‘open window’ brand device intended to capture the transformational effects of the product and the emotional reward of cheering things up in the garden.

8. Coley Porter Bell has created a new brand identity for UK poultry supplier Handpecked. The design consisting of a chicken’s wing in the form of a hand on a roughly printed silhouette of a hen, was inspired by the company’s name.

9.  Another latest CPB’s project is the redesign of existing and creation of the new packaging for a luxury version of Müller Corner range, de Luxe Corner.

10. London-based ButterflyCannon has created new glassware for the Swedish brand of premium cider, Kopparberg. The design team calls it an «unconventional, quirky antidote to the tall slim glassware», which has become the established norm across the trade. The new Kopparberg glassware launched to the UK on-trade in April 2013.

11. The U.S. agency Duffy & Partners has redesigned identity of Summit Brewing Company and the packaging for its Union Series. New design for complete Summit Brewing line will be released in autumn 2013.

12. London agency Slice has updated packaging for a range of new and exciting summer flavours for Danone’s Activia to add to their portfolio.
