Old Navy Adds Some Music to Its New Summer Catalogue

Old Navy has introduced an apparel catalogue of the next generation—the casual wear giant has tapped New Kids on the Block pop star Jordan Knight to sing songs about the summer collection pieces, including bikini tops, cargo shorts, dresses and tees to name but a few. Of course, the singing tribute to the seasonal wardrobe is just a joke, devised Crispin Porter + Bogusky, the agency behind the brand’s  latest campaign, to add to the ‘funnovation’ atmosphere the brand creates.

Each item in the catalogues is described with a song, which can be found in the dedicated Old Navy Summer Catalogue app on the brand’s Facebook page. Visitors to the vibrant hub, designed in the electric style of 90-ies, can listen to the tracks which pay homage to clothing items by clicking on the Play button on each of the pieces, or download the Jordan megamix to enjoy the serenade about the whole collection.

On the page and in the promo video, the brand informs that the CD is not real and you can’t buy it in stores, still fans of the boys band artist and Old Navy can get memorabilia devoted to this collaboration—they can win one of 100 Old Navy T-shirts signed by Jordan Knight himself. “He may have even kissed some of the tee shirts (but we’re not saying which ones),” shares the brand. The applications are accepted through July 4, 2012, the winners will be randomly selected.
