Philips teamed up with Kvadrat Soft Cells and created a visual fantasy: luminous textile. The innovation gives architects, interior designers and lighting specialists an opportunity to expand their ideas spectrum with new possibilities of enhancing space with ambient light, texture and even dynamic content.

The wide range of Kvadrat textiles in combination with a spectrum of colors in Philips’ LED range the desirable atmosphere can be reached. Lighting panels are easy to install. They come in standard and customized sizes. Each panel is built up of LED modules consisting of multi-colour LEDs with a 60mm pitch fixed on acoustic foam.
The Breitner Tower in Amsterdam has been home to Philips’ headquarters since 2002. Refurbishing its restaurant gave the company that initiated the Livable Cities project earlier this year, a perfect opportunity to showcase the new lighting concept and create more inspirational atmosphere for the staff to enjoy the sensory experience.

The panels are finished with Kvadrat textiles and use the Kvadrat Soft Cells acoustic panels with a sound-dampening nature and a patented technology to keep the fabric under constant tension within the aluminum frame.
Consumers are able to create and customise their own dynamic themes with Philips content management system that allows to upload and manage imagery in a simple way. So luminous textile can bring any ideas alive.
