They say knowledge is better absorbed in practice. Marine biologist from America Dr. Sylvia Earle replaced the pages of usual biology textbooks by educational online broadcasts on Facebook, which inspire not only students, but also adults to studying.

In May 2016 an American marine ecologist, researcher, author and lecturer Dr. Sylvia Earle has decided to catch on video some of her underwater expeditions as an experiment. These videos were broadcasted online on the website and Explore.org channel Facebook page as well as in the National Park Ventura and Washington (DC), California.

Despite of her advanced age, — this year Sylvia will be 82 years old, woman still fightingly conquers sea depths. During her career Dr. Earle has organized more than 100 marine expeditions and spent more than 7,000 hours underwater. And her underwater journey around the forest located near Ecuador and which has the richest marine environments in the world, collected quite an impressive audience of Facebook users.

For the expedition the woman needed a stylish diving suit and minimum recording equipment. Gorgeous views of the forest from the underwater depths, fabulous laminaria and landscape beauty have attracted Internet gawkers, who became involved in the study of three-dimensional environment of unusual marine organisms and addressing important environmental issues.
Sylvia is also a kind of online organized conference on the Facebook page for students Ventura, where she answered all comments and questions of those who are interested in marine life and laminaria in real time.

May diving was marked with the 10th Annual Conference of the National Parks BioBlitz, which encourages people across the country to participate the digital research activities and the study of marine life of the national parks.

The live stream was broadcasted on sources of the volunteers group of the National Geographic Society, the National Park Service, National Trust Park, channel Explore.org Annenberg and Foundation of Norman Isles.

Specialists have the opinion that this practice will certainly take root in the educational institutions thanks to its entertainment and visibility of the process, because even the most fascinating ecology lesson will never gather so many students interested in the environment, actually asking questions and wanting to hear a truthful answer on them.
