For 27 years, Renault has supported the development of the Cannes Film Festival. This year more than ever, Renault is partnering with the Cannes Film Festival, organizing a number of events to mark this legendary landmark in the movie calendar.
In addition to loaning 140 vehicles to meet the Festival’s needs, Renault will be present every day on the Majestic 63 beach with L’Atelier Renault and will give a world exclusive preview of New Mégane Coupé Cabriolet. Between May 12 and 24, 2010, a fleet of around one hundred vehicles, including 70 Vel Satis and around thirty Espace, will be present at the Festival, escorting the invited actors and personalities to the bottom of the red-carpeted steps.
Between May 7 and 23, the Cannes Film Festival will also be present in Paris at L’Atelier Renault on the Champs-Elysées. Visitors will be able to follow live coverage of the opening and closing ceremonies on a giant screen, and play at being film stars by climbing the famous steps, recreated for the occasion.
Renault is also supporting the association Les Toiles Enchantées, sponsored by actor Alain Chabat. It will be lending vehicles to carry members of the association and their projection equipment. Children in hospital in and around Cannes will be able to enjoy the festival too with screenings of world premieres.
Today, the brand is continuing its involvement in cinema and TV productions through an active policy of partnerships and product placements (150 feature and short films in 2009).
