Renault Renews Its Partnership with Dame Ellen MacArthur and Helps Launch Her New Foundation

Renault has been a partner to Dame Ellen MacArthur since 2001 and last week it renewed its partnership with the yachtswoman for a further three years. In its new capacity, Renault is one of the founding partners of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, launched on September 2, 2010, in London, at the Science Museum together with a number of influential business, education and government leaders.

Innovation to support sustainable mobility and an emphasis on responsible production methods are integral to Renault’s core strategy. In 1995, Renault set up its environmental policy, aimed at reducing the ecological impact of its vehicles at every stage of their life cycle: from conception to manufacture, from use to their eventual recycling at their end-of-life.

Renault’s policy on the environment is represented by its Renault eco2 signature, a commitment to launch its first four Z.E. electric vehicles (zero-emission in road use) by the end of 2012.

The new relationship will further strengthen Renault’s relationship with Dame Ellen, by supporting her new charitable Foundation. Renault is one of four Founding Partners to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, launched in London on September 2, 2010.

The Foundation will work with business and education to inspire people to re-think, re-design and build a sustainable future. Renault’s association with the Foundation will be a true partnership; Renault will contribute its expertise, case studies and employee volunteers, to support the Foundation and Ellen on her new journey.
