Benetton have partnered with The American Folk Art Museum (AFAM) in arranging series of exhibitions entitled Vision and Vernacular: Eight African-American Artists in Venice. Interestingly, these exhibitions which were to take place during the Venice Biennale from June 1–15, 2011,  aimed at providing space for self-taught African American artists to display their works to the world.

As part of the Dazed Live festival, which was held in London this Saturday, one of its major partner, the Absolut Vodka brand, presented an exhibit called  ‘A Celebration of the City through Self-Publishing’ exploring the past, present and future of the capital and its culture of independent zine publishing. For the retrospective installation, Absolut London collaborated with jotta.com, an online community for artists and creatives.

One of Australasia’s most prestigious art prizes, The Archibald Prize, has been trumped by the launch of a new Foot Locker Australasia’s Sneaker Art Prize that’s set to shake up the art world and force people to question once more what can legitimately be called ‘art’. The retailer announced the launch of the The World’s Richest Colouring Competition and with a first prize cash value of AUD$50,001 it trumps the notorious Archibald Prize, by one dollar exactly.

London-based designer Moritz Waldemeyer has collaborated with Bombay Sapphire to create a stunning and highly imaginative visualisation of the special distillation process used in the production of the premium gin in the iconic blue bottle. The Bombay Sapphire Vapour Infusion Piece combines the most advanced lighting technology with hand-crafted skills, juxtaposing the contemporary and traditional attributes of Bombay Sapphire in an intriguing and beautiful way.

In November 2010, Bombay Sapphire, which made an awesome sea-life inspired 3D projection onto the Queen’s House at the Old Royal Naval College in London last fall, issued a call for new stunning ideas to be converted into a three-dimension visual picture on one of the most iconic buildings of the world. On April 1, the winner was selected—Facebook community, which voted for the most stunning work, chose the concept of the Cube of Rubic projection conceived by Erjola Veliaj from Albania to be the next Bombay Sapphire’s 3D installation.

Recently, the brand redefined its basic range’s identity—now the coffee canisters feature brush strokes of different colours, which help distinguish between the various preparation types and roasts. The new can became the canvas for the latest ‘coffee’ design ‘Energie Love Difference’ by Michelangelo Pistoletto.

BMW is first partner of the wide-ranging exhibition ‘The Art of Enlightenment,’ which will open at the Chinese National Museum in Beijing on 1 April 2011. Conception and organization of the exhibition at the reopened National Museum of China are the joint efforts of the National Museums in Berlin, the Dresden State Art Collection, the Bavarian State Art Collection Munich and the National Museum of China.

Recently, Intel has proved it through a bespoke project entitled ‘Remastered,’ and now HP is launching its ‘Mobile Expressionism’ to once again celebrate the ties between visual creativity and the technological progress. For the project, which is dedicated to the HP webOS mobile platform and targeted at application developers who use it in their work, the company collaborated with several illustrators and artists who created graphic pieces inspired by a range of popular HP webOS apps.
