Those who spent days and months looking for a dating partner and still can’t find him or her, now have an online tool, which will help them put an end to this tough search and finally select a perfect match. This might seem a bit weird, but the solution comes from… a global automobile manufacturer, Citroën. With a new interactive service, Dating 2.0, users can specify the features a potential partner should have, and after all the preferences being processed, they get a picture of the ideal date standing by the best-matching Citroën DS3.

I went to a seminar this week that was analysing how digital activities and traditional direct mail relate to each other in the real world. There were two exciting case studies I was intrigued by. One was a piece by GGRP created by Grey Vancouver and the other by Razorfish for Audi. Intelligent creative that demonstrated clearly that there is absolutely no doubt that digital has revolutionised the way we engage with consumers offline. Cool stuff.

Renault has been a partner to Dame Ellen MacArthur since 2001 and last week it renewed its partnership with the yachtswoman for a further three years. In its new capacity, Renault is one of the founding partners of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, launched on September 2, 2010, in London, at the Science Museum together with a number of influential business, education and government leaders.

The year 2010 marks Tag Heuer‘s 150th anniversary, and in recognition of this milestone, the brand joined forces with Tesla Motors Inc., the legendary electric sports car company, to create the one-of-a-kind Tag Heuer Tesla Roadster, a fully electric, emissions-free vehicle outfitted with a Heuer limited-edition one-fifth second stopwatch and a Tag Heuer Meridiist communications device. The two iconic brands also launched their global “Odyssey of Pioneers» exhibition and roadshow to visit the key cities of the world.

Hyundai Hope on Wheels, a partnership of more than 800 Hyundai dealers across the U.S. and Hyundai Motor America, marked the beginning of National Childhood Cancer Awareness month with a press conference to launch a new nationwide initiative to support the fight against childhood cancer and announce the donation of $6.8 million in «Hope Grants.»

Professor Harold Mooney of Stanford University in California has been named the recipient of the 2010 Volvo Environment Prize. This year’s prizewinner has for many years been a leading light within research into biological diversity and especially how important it is for the functioning of ecosystem services. This concept has been widely acknowledged in recent years, perhaps mainly due to an international research program, Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, where Professor Mooney has played a leading role.
