MINI is arriving at the Salone del Mobile 2013 with the two-part installation KAPOOOW!, which puts the MINI Paceman into the spotlight. The art project is the central piece of a broader experience, MINI KAPOOOW! @MINI Paceman Garage platform, serving as a space where artists and designers are invited to exchange their creative visions in a series of meetings, sessions and workshops. Both the installation and the creative space will be open at the design furniture fair through Sunday, April 14.

BMW has collaborated with internationally celebrated French design duo, brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, to create a state-of-the-art installation for the Salone del Mobile 2013, taking place in Milan April 9-14. The new construction named QUIET MOTION mirrors the BMW’s design philosophy and the fair’s mission to showcase the innovative approaches in the field of furniture and living space design.
The BMW Guggenheim Lab, the German automaker’s mobile laboratory that has moved across the biggest cities since 2011 to addresses the problems of urban living, is now exploring the theme of privacy in a big city through a new interactive experience “Public/Private.” The global audience is invited to measure the level of privacy they want and get in their metropolitan areas, build a visual graph based on their choices and then compare it with the results of other users.
MINI has collaborated with international fashion guru Roberto Cavalli to create an exclusively decorated one-off MINI Paceman for the Life Ball, one of the biggest AIDS charity events. Each year since 2001, a specially re-imagined MINI car has been auctioned at the AIDS Solidarity Gala event to raise donations for HIV projects.
BMW is rolling out an international campaign, revolving around the brands’ unparalleled design solutions and ultimate visual perfection paired with great performance. The automaker’s new multimedia marketing effort, created with the focus on design and dynamics, is launching worldwide in the first quarter of 2013. It includes a TV spot, an app for iPad and Andriod tablet as well as print and online promotions. The «Designed for Driving Pleasure» campaign, developed in partnership with BMW Design and realized by Servicplan, has been already rolled out across Germany.

Through the auto brand’s Facebook page, anyone can dedicate a song to their precious other half—the brand posts YouTube videos to its page along with the name of the one it is dedicated to.
BMW and London’s Tate art gallery announce the program for 2013 BMW Tate Live. Started last year, BMW Tate Live is an international four-year creative partnership, which focuses on performance and interdisciplinary art in the gallery and online and aims to bring a new artistic developments to art lovers across the globe. The 2013 program includes two major pillars, BMW Tate Live: Performance Events (free and ticketed life performances within actual spaces) and BMW Tate Live: Performance Room (live performances hosted exclusively for online streaming for intentional viewers simultaneously). Plus, they will throw BMW Tate Live: Thought Workshops, which will include a range of participatory discussions.
