Sony Corporation and Google Inc. announced on May 20th an agreement that will combine Google’s open source Android OS platform with the expertise and advancements in technology that only Sony has. The two giants are exploring the development of Android-based hardware consumer products.
Soon after Google released an ad showcasing Chrome’s abilities, its rival, Yahoo, launched a the second phase of its $100 million “It’s You” campaign. The video, developed by Goodby Silverstein & Partners, appeared on the Yahoo corporate blog on May 5 in the post “A Sneak Peek of Exciting & Fresh Stuff from Yahoo!.” The new round of the campaign will cost $75 million to $85 million and will be launched on May 18.
Google is launching a new service to compete with Facebook and MySpace. Yesterday the the world’s No. 1 search engine introduced Google Buzz, which allows the loyal Google fans to share information (text messages, videos, photos, and links) with their friends or the whole world via instant messages with links and photos.
