PepsiCo announced plans to roll-out its new i-crop farming technology on a global basis. The web-based tool, which was developed by PepsiCo in conjunction with Cambridge University, United Kingdom, is a crop management system that will enable PepsiCo’s farmers around the world to monitor, manage and reduce their water use and carbon emissions, while also maximizing potential yield and quality.

Being one of the official sponsors of the London 2012 Olympics, Coca-Cola UK is launching a series of projects focused on sports or in some way touching on the upcoming event. Last week, the company kicked off a youth-related initiative in collaboration with StreetGames, and soon afterwards it launched a campaign to bring forth its sports drink, Powerade Zero.
Coca-Cola Great Britain (CCGB) yesterday announced a new three year partnership with StreetGames, a national charity set up to help young people in disadvantaged communities get active and participate in sports. It was launched by the Minister for Sport and Olympics, Hugh Robertson MP, with help from StreetGames’ Ambassador and former Olympic athlete Diane Modahl. The start was celebrated with a keenly contested futsal match in which the Minister played alongside local StreetGames participants.

This summer, residents of San Francisco could see a first-of-its-kind handcrafted billboard, which had been carved for 10 days in the open air on one of the city’s streets. Now, the Canadian division of the company has launched a print & TV campaign on the same theme to introduce consumers to real farmers, who supply potatoes for the brand.
