Starbucks proves its commitment to communities and after introducing the ‘Create jobs for USA’ initiative, it presents a new community model in the neighborhoods of Harlem, New York and Crenshaw, Los Angeles. These organizations will share in the profits of a store in each community. Each organization will receive a minimum of $100,000 from Starbucks for the first year of the partnership.

With less than a year to go to London 2012, Olympic sponsorship is virtually sold out, with over 50 partners signed up at global and domestic level by the IOC and LOCOG in deals worth $2billion combined. This makes it one of the biggest sponsorship programmes of its type in the world—it accounts for around one-third of total Games revenues—and certainly the most prestigious given that its members feature a plethora of iconic global brand owners such as BMW, Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble and Samsung.

Heineken International has announced that it has extended its contract with UEFA to sponsor the UEFA Champions League for a further three years. Heineken’s new agreement will see its current deal with the world’s most prestigious club tournament extend until the end of the 2014/15 season. The partnership is set to continue to be an important component of the beer brand’s global sports sponsorship strategy while supporting the growth objectives of the brand.
