Samsung has unveiled pictures of its new San Jose groundbreaking campus that will help the company expand its U.S. reach and attract more professionals in the tech area. The construction works are slated to begin in July 2013, and the campus designed by NBBJ is expected to be ready in mid-2015. With this move, Samsung once again takes on Apple that is expected to unveil its much-anticipated spacecraft-inspired headquarters by 2016.

Huawei, the China-based telecoms operator and smartphone manufacturer, is rolling out its new branding campaign entitled “Make it Possible,” designed to increase the brand’s recognition on the global market. The new initiative was launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the biggest international mobile tradeshow, this week. Google has released its first touchscreen display computer, Chromebook Pixel, competing with similar offerings from Apple and Samsung. Already available for $1,299 at the Google Play store in the U.S., the laptop has a multi-touch 2560 x 1700 screen, 12.85-inch display, a 3:2 photographic format, 4.3 million pixels and 4GB of DDR3 RAM. In addition, Google offers the Chromebook Pixel owners the immersive 1TB of Google Drive cloud storage for free for the first three years.

In early February, General Electric invited American creators to share their groundbreaking ideas with the world in celebration of National Inventor’s Day that coincided with the greatest U.S. inventor, Thomas Edison’s, birthday on February 11. The company teamed up with the BuzzFeed website and launched a social-media campaign #IWantToInvent on Twitter to collected revolutionary ideas submitted by public.

Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Sergey Brin (Google) and Yuri Milner (Digital Sky Technologies) along with some other notable figures in the IT sector have joined forces to launch the Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences Foundation to foster researchers in the biotech sphere. The list of founding sponsors also includes Zuckerberg’s wife Priscilla Chan, Brin’s wife and co-founder of 23andMe Anne Wojcicki as well as Art Levinson of Apple, who has been appointed the Chairman of the Foundation’s board.

Lexus infuses life into the new print, promoting the 2014 Lexus IS in the latest issue of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine. The automaker has collaborated with the Team One agency, which created the interactive print that is activated by scanning a QR code. Thanks to the technology, a traditional paper magazine ad comes to life, revealing three models wearing swimsuits.
