Extreme is usually associated with Red Bull or sport gear producers like Nike and its subbrands, but automobile manufacturer can add some action to your life as well. Chevrolet is rolling out its stunt-filled advertising campaign dubbed ‘Let’s Do This,’ launched back in October 2011, and announces two new commercials with unconventional plot to be aired during 2012 Super Bowl this Sunday. The digital campaign, which promotes Chevy Sonic, encourages younger generation (it is targeting 18- to 30-year-old audience) to live their life to the full and embark on some jaw-dropping challenges to test their limits and courage—and win a Sonic in a monthly drawing.

With less than a week left before Super Bowl XLVI, which is both a major sport competition and an important advertising event, brands are bringing forth their new commercials or just teasers to hint on what the public will see in the breaks of the big game. Recently, we wrote about some of the auto adverts, which will be aired during the match on February 5 (since that time a bunch of new auto spots—Audi’s vampire story and Honda‘s ad featuring Matthew Broderick to name a few—have been revealed), and about Coca-Cola’s hilarious contribution, the Coke Polar Bowl interactive campaign. But what about Coke’s major rival, Pepsi? As it turns out, it also has something to show during the game—the brand created two ads, for Pepsi and Pepsi MAX, which will air this Sunday.

Walkers has kicked off a new promotion dubbed ‘What’s That Flavour?’ and dedicated to the launch of three new flavours, inspired by much-loved British ingredients and recipes. The brand encourages the British consumers to try and guess the flavours for a chance to be entered into a draw in case they manage to identify each of the three new names correctly (so far they are Mystery Flavour A, B or C), and walk away with £50,000.

Coffee brands are working hard to turn the Chinese into the coffee-drinking nation, using the traditional western stories with strong rebellious characters for their advertising campaigns. One of the strongest players on the coffee market, Nescafé, has tapped Chinese professional rally driver, blogger, best-selling author, singer Han Han to front its recent campaign ‘Live Out Your Boldness’ by Publicis Nestle Team Beijing, in which the 29-year old man is living his life to the full and never misses an opportunity to experience something new, with no boundaries or restrictions (of course, nothing illegal).

McDonald’s UK has launched a new campaign revolving around the theme of simple or serious conversations that are started over a cup of coffee. With the new promotion dubbed ‘Cups,’ developed by Leo Burnett, the fast food giant focuses on simple moments of everyday life. The company’s, which usually highlights burgers and fries in its campaigns (like it was in the recent ‘Timber v. Farmer’ advert), this time turned to promoting its range of coffees.

Brands are gearing up for Super Bowl XLVI, which is slated for February 5 this year, with new hilarious viral commercials. Since the event attracts millions of viewers, brands do their best to amaze and the public with their ads and pay a lot for that (this year, all TVCs for the game sold out at an average price of $3.5 million per thirty-second ad, and this is the highest price in the game’s history) . Usually, the Super Bowl adverts are standalone commercials and do not start new campaigns, but Mars Chocolate’s brand M&M’s wants to use this event to introduce its new candy spokesperson, Ms. Brown, which will certainly appear in upcoming promotions by the brand. This sport event is “the perfect opportunity to launch the biggest news for M&M’s in years,” says Debra A. Sandler, Chief Consumer Officer of Mars Chocolate North America, and adds that the new advert will “kick off a year of activity” featuring the new character.

Nike Basketball proved that it ‘never stops’ (as the brand declared in the previous campaign) with the launch of the new marketing promotion starring basketball legend Kobe Bryant. He has reached remarkable success in his life and now, with his own example can inspire talented individuals around the globe to achieve yet bigger and bolder goals. This became the core point of the ‘The KobeSystem: Success for the Successful’ campaign, which spreads the athlete’s ‘Attack Fast, Attack strong’ philosophy and promotes his revolutionary new signature shoe, the Nike Kobe VII System Supreme.
