For the US retailer, it’s another way to deliver a better experience to the consumers who prefer to purchase goods in the comfort of their homes. With this move, Target also aims to drive more consumers to its online platform and become a stronger player on the e-commerce market.

Building on the success of its For Women in Science initiative, L’Oréal starts a similar program for girls in the USA. The cosmetics giant has launched the dedicated www.forgirlsinscience.org website, which is “designed to inspire and empower girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (S.T.E.M).” The new online destination, created to support the emerging female scientists, works as an educative and entertaining site at the same time.

A range of styles from the Prada fashion house and its Miu Miu brand influence the collection of dresses for the long-awaited Baz Luhrmann‘s film adaptation of The Great Gatsby, which is to be released in May. Miuccia Prada has unveiled a series of sketches for over 40 looks for the movie, which were developed by the Italian fashion label and costume designer Catherine Martin. According to Vogue, each of the sketches is “inspired by the creations of Miuccia Prada from the archives of the last 20 years.”

Nike has released a new film starring one of its most celebrated ambassadors, Kobe Bryant. The new video piece “Count on Kobe,” developed by Wieden + Kennedy of Portland, Ore., promotes the KOBE 8 SYSTEM, the lightest and lowest performance shoe of the baseball genius. In the spot, the female voice over explains how the world works and how Kobe works in it—very soon it becomes clear that he is also a world, a unique universe. “Some things in this world are certainties. The sun will rise. Rain will fall. And Kobe Bryant will dominate on the basketball court,” says the brand in the press release.

Google announces its new U.S. Doodle 4 Google competition for K-12 students. The company is inviting kids from all across the country to create their art pieces under the “My Best Day Ever…” theme. The winning doodle will get featured on the Google homepage for one day, and the young artist, who created it, will get a nice prize—a $30,000 college scholarship plus a $50,000 technology grant for his or her school.
