Versace is going to launch its first super-class cell phone this May and join the club of other fashion brands, with Prada, Dior and Dolce & Gabbana among them, which have already got into the mobile devices sphere.
The upcoming item was developed by ModeLabs Group, the French company that also designed mobiles for Christian Dior and watchmaker Tag Heuer. The clients of the brand, who will want to purchase the new cell phone, will be able to choose its colour and designer details.
The preview of the cell phone will be arranged for the House’s VIP clients next week at the haute couture shows in Paris. The price is still kept under wraps, but the company’s representatives have confessed that it will cost more than Dior’s – meaning that the sum will be bigger than $5,000.
«This exciting collaboration is consistent with Versace’s strategy of developing the brand’s strong business potential through a select number of agreements with key international licensing partners,» noted Gian Giacomo Ferraris, CEO of Versace.
