The exhibition was a part of ABSOLUT Fringe 2011—the Ireland’s largest multi-disciplinary arts festival that runs for 16 days from September 10 to 25. Now in its 17th year, the festival stages up to 525 events in over 40 venues, and around 150,000 people have at least one Fringe experience during the Festival. The ABSOLUT VIS10NS was launched in a creative collaboration with Small Print, an art promotion organization and blog.
ABSOLUT invited 10 leading Irish and international graphic artists to come together for a week and create a piece of art, using an 8ft tall replica of the iconic ABSOLUT bottle as their canvas. The project reminds of the ABOLUT Blank ad campaign. The open workshop was shot on the video. The exhibition was open to the public from September 8 to 11 at South Studios, Dublin.
The 10 artists including Ben Newman (UK) / BRENB (IRL) / Celestine Cooney (IRL) / DALEK (US) / Linda Brownlee (IRL) / Mario Sughi (ITA) / Niels Shoe Meulman (NL) / Rilla Alexander—RINZEN (OZ) / Steve Alexander—RINZEN (OZ) / The London Police (UK) depicted their vision of ABSOLUT in a variety of creative disciplines from painting, fashion and photography to illustration and typography.
The Swedish vodka brand has recently unveiled ABSOLUT STUDIO—a creative space designed to showcase the best of fashion, art and music across Fashion Weekend in New Zealand. In Australia, the company launched a new drink—ABSOLUT TUNE, which is a mix of vodka and wine.
