It was first announced in May, 2009, and a year later Wave was opened for free user registration all over the world. The ultimate goal was to merge e-mail, instant messaging, Wikipedia and social networking in one web-product. Still, the attempt failed.

Hugo Create announced the launch of the 16th round of its designer competition, started back in February 2008. The new phase, Motion of Sound, will be running up to August 31, with the winners to be named on October 1. Participants of the contest are as usual invited to create their unconventional graphics, featuring the Hugo Man Bottle, for a chance to become one of the 9 winners and receive $500 or to be selected as the grand winner, which will also get the same amount of money plus will have his or her work published in i-D magazine.

Procter & Gamble announced a new social sustainability and social media campaign called the Give Health Clean Water Blogivation that will kick-off at the BlogHer 2010 Conference August 6-7. In partnership with Changents.com and P&G’s Children’s Safe Drinking Water program, the Give Health Clean Water Blogivation will showcase the power of female bloggers to improve the lives of people in need of clean drinking water.
