Avon ‘Plants the Future’ with Hello Green Tomorrow Product Line-up

Avon has joined the global movement aimed at conserving the rainforests of the Earth and saving the endangered tropilcal forests of South America and Indonesia. For this purpose, the brand has announced a fundraising campaign the beginning of which is marked with a launch of Hello Green Tomorrow products that will be sold worldwide.

As far as the US are concerned, Avon has rolled out an eco-friendly reusable 34-ounce  ‘Hello Green Tomorrow» water bottle in aluminum package that is available through the network of Avon’s sales representatives for just $8. 100 per cent of the net proceeds ($4.87) will benefit the Hello Green Tomorrow Fund to be further distributed to such organizations as The Nature Conservancy for continuing efforts in the Atlantic Rainforest in South America and to World Wildlife Fund for their reforestation projects in Indonesia (Borneo and Sumatra).

Since April 22, the product will be available for purchase at the online destination of the ecological campaign at hellogreentomorrow.com. This online hub has been launched simultaneously with the product and provides tips on conserving nature and making your everyday life and habits ‘greener’.

Andrea Jung, Avon chairman and CEO, said, «Avon celebrates its 125th anniversary this year; and there is no better time for us to look forward and take action to help ‘plant a future’ through Hello Green Tomorrow. Giving back to society and the environment is stated in the principles on which Avon was founded in 1886; and today we bring this to life by empowering a global women’s environmental movement to nurture nature.»

As a large-scale cosmetics manufacturer, Avon is one of the major consumers of palm oil. In order to prevent further demolition of palm forests and to support its ‘Hello Green Tomorrow‘ initiative, the brand has announced Palm Oil Promise providing guidelines for purchasing sustainably sourced palm oil on the basis of ‘book and claim’ certificates.
