Buick Regal’s Moments of Truth

Buick Regal, a new model from General Motors range, definitely likes to be talked about, and so launches a special hub www.MomentofTruth.com, which aggregates tons of real-time comments, coming from various social media platforms, professional websites and blogs, barring totally uninformative comments and posts with foul language.

The content related to Regal (professional reviews, testimonials as well as Facebook posts, Flickr photos, Titter tweets, YouTube videos, etc.) are showcased on a giant 3D billboard. Each of the comments comes in the form of a small ‘window,’ which can be expanded by a clicking on it. The Moments of Truth user-generated ‘library’ was produced by San Francisco-based @ThisMoment and Buick’s Internet agency Digitas.

«We are inviting consumers to find out on their own that Regal is a true performance sedan and worthy of their consideration. We are making it easy for the consumer to get unbiased opinions in one online location,» stated Craig Bierley, Buick advertising director. «We wanted to harness the real, live reactions of people, whether third-party enthusiasts, or regular consumers—all perspectives,» added Janet Keller, digital-social media manager at Buick GMC.

To promote its new model in the US, the auto manufacturer has also licked off a 10-city test drive program as well as social and mobile activities, released TV ads and developed aggressive outdoor advertising push. The starting price of the Buick Regal is now $26,995. The Moment of Truth page has been opened right after the release of the advert, promoting Buick Regal, which is the rebadged version of Opel’s Insignia.
