Casa Rex Develops Its First Global Project for Firmenich

Creative design agency Casa Rex has developed its first project for the Swiss company Firmenich, the largest privately owned organization in the fragrance and flavour business, ranking second worldwide.

The challenge was to align the different marketing tools that Firmenich offers its clients—big consumer brand companies—and to create an integrated identity system that worked across all platforms in each of the countries where the company is represented. In order to achieve this, Casa Rex analysed the main elements that formed the existing corporate identity of Firmenich, examined the merits of each tool and originated a new visual identity.

«We created brands that talk to each other, that are easily identified as being part of the same family and are also instantly recognizable as being part of Firmenich,» explains Samia Jacintho, who designed the project together with Gustavo Piqueira.

Moving away from common visual cues traditionally associated with aromas or fragrances, Casa Rex developed a visual identity that explores the olfactive universe not just as a scientific process but as a creative work that amplifies and values the senses; «An expressive and dynamic identity that visually translates the sophistication and the originality of Firmenich«, comments Gustavo, who is also head of Casa Rex.

In addition to creating the new brands, the agency has also developed other collateral ranging from templates to animated movies for Firmenich’s head office. These materials have been distributed to all their branches across 5 continents, as part of the global implementation of the project.
