There are up to 1.6 billion servings of Coca-Cola products consumed on a daily basis, and used bottles usually become trash. Solving the ecology issue has already become one of the company’s top priorities. The Coca-Cola brand has announced that it is launching a totally new and eco-friendly container, a PlantBottle. Now when the tests are over, the new packaging is ready to appear.
The new plastic bottle will be produced from petroleum-based materials and 30% plant based materials. It is said, that the innovative containers are supposed to help lessen the carbon footprint up to 25% in comparison with conventional PET bottles. It will be easy to be made and recycled, and the technology will be probably adopted by a range of other global companies.
As a start now the company has introduced the brand-new bottles for its Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Light and Coca-Cola Zero line throughout Denmark, and will present yet more products in the nearest time for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games. It’s also going to apply the innovative method for packaging of other products as well, i.e. its vitamin beverages. Over some time (this period isn’t set yet) all the conventional bottles of the company will be replaced with the eco-friendly ones.
