Converse Dedicated a New Design to Bad Meets Evil—Eminem and Royce da 5’9″

Converse, which seems to be the biggest music fan in the footwear world, has teamed up with Eminem and Royce da 5’9″ to produce a new limited edition design for the brand’s classic All-Star model. The new design is supporting the ‘Bad Meets Evil, ‘Hell: The Sequel’ album, released on June 14, 2011 and the chunks are reflecting the bold style and nature of this musical tandem.

Not surprisingly, the shoes are created in black and white palette and feature the group’s branding pieces as well as additional patterns all over the sides and front. As for the personal signature elements of the performers, the sneakers feature logos of Shady Records on the tongues of the shoes and the Bad Meets Evil logo placed by the ankle.  In the video shoot to promote the launch, Eminem (Evil) and Royce (Bad) tell a lot about their collaboration and the new album and say a few words about the new design of the shoe, which merges the most prominent features of the musicians’ personalities. The limited edition sneakers with the new design (only 100 pairs were produced) are available exclusively in New York and Boston Converse flagship stores beginning June 16 (but one also could win a pair signed by the musicians by entering a rhyme here).

«I think that this is dope because Chuck Taylors are such an iconic sneaker. It’s cool to give something for the fans too; for them to get something exclusively,» commented Eminem.  «I couldn’t afford Chucks when I was a kid. I was a little white trashy and didn’t have much money growing up so I always wanted a pair, and now I have my own pair

«I had a lot of pair, I loved Chucks, I used to hoop in these. Certain amount of the proceeds are going to charity, we’re excited about that. This is great man. This is a good thing to be a part of. I’m wearing mines out,» Royce continued.

The proceeds from the sale of the new edition will be donated to Eminem’s Marshall Mathers Foundation, which provides funds for organizations working with at-risk youth.
