Converse Sponsors the Cut&Paste Digital Design Global Championship 2010-2011

Being a long-time supporter of various art projects, Converse comes out as a global sponsor of the LIVE digital design tournament 2010-2011 by Cut&Paste. The brand is once again inviting artists, designers, illustrators, and creatives in the disciplines of 2D, 3D, and Motion Design to compete in creating bespoke digital animation pieces as fast as only professionals can.

The competition will be held on Saturday, April 16 at Webster Hall in NYC, and will see 30 designers from eight countries battling it out and developing their works simultaneously during just a few hours, while usually this kind of works takes days or even weeks. The finalists were shortlisted as best in their fields in course of local tournaments, running last fall in a number of cities across the world.

The contestants will be judged by the panel of experts including graphic artist Jon Burgerman, Dave Chau of Big Spaceship, Matthias Hollwich of Architizer and Cliff Kuang of Fast Company’s Co.Design to name a few. The winners of the contest will receive an opportunity to collaborate with the shoewear giant on a motion design project.
