Coty Inc. has signed an agreement with the National Geographic Society, announcing Davidoff Cool Water as a partner for the Pristine Seas program.
National Geographic is organizing the Pristine Seas Expeditions that is aimed to protect some of the last pristine spots of the oceans and to create marine protected areas. Only 1% of the global ocean is protected, while the ocean covers 72% of the surface of the Earth. Coty, one of the leading global beauty company, will support the expedition that starts with a trip to the Pitcairn Islands (UK territory) in the Pacific Ocean this month. The expedition will be guided by Dr. Enric Sala, a marine ecologist and National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence who has dedicated his career to finding ways to mitigate human impacts on marine life.

We are happy to have our bestseller, Davidoff Cool Water, a fragrance that initiated the olfactive territory of oceanic freshness, active in ocean protection,” said Michele Scannavini, President of Coty Prestige.
The new face of Davidoff Cool Water, American actor Paul Walker also supports the initiative. He said he has always been passionate about the ocean and “is proud to be the face of a legendary fragrance that is willing to be active in the protection of the ocean”.
Starting summer 2012, consumers can join Davidoff Cool Water in supporting the National Geographic Pristine Seas but details on how they can do it are not unveiled yet.
Other companies that support the National Geographic projects include Panasonic that helps to preserve the World Heritage sites and YouTube that launched the ‘Planet Inspired’ competition in 2010.
