Swatch and MTV once again join together to launch the Swatch MTV Playground Creative Competition 2010. This announcement by MTV Networks International, owned by Viacom Inc., comes only one year after the two joined together for a similar contest giving global creatives the opportunity to share their vision and designs with the world.
The competition, starting June 15, challenges young artists and tastemakers to develop a design for a Swatch watch. With a very strict set of rules and guidelines for the design, competitors are to be unique and innovative using a classic blank Swatch as their starting spot.
A panel of judges from the industry will choose ten runners up and one overall number one designer. The winner of the contest, which ends on August 31, will receive a trip for two to Shanghai, a guided tour of the Expo 2010 and VIP passes plus spending money for the trip. The ten runners up will all receive a Swatch Color Codes watch.
Also available on the website is news from Animation, Music, Film, Fashion, Print Design, Motion Graphics and Illustration. This plus the incredible showcase of up-and-coming talent from around the world makes this site a must-see for everyone.
