Dolce & Gabbana Released Perfume for Babies, Sans Alcohol

The original baby scent is not perfect. Dolce & Gabbana has developed a new fragrance for babies to make them smell even sweeter than they do now. The new scent, which was announced by the brand in early January, is a “symbol of pureness” and embodies the “innocence of childhood,” states the manufacturer.

The new fragrance features the notes of citrus, melon and honey, and this combination is expected to highlight the baby’s unique natural scent. The product was spotted on stefanogabbana’s Instagram channel with the «❤❤❤per I bambini!!!» («for kids») comment from Gabbana—the box in the photo reads “alcohol free scented water,” so it’s a true product for consumers under 21 years of age.

The softness of baby skin, the freshness of baby breath, a mother’s sweet hug, the first smile… and other tender moments have been the source of inspiration,” commented Gabbana to The New York Daily News. To make their tots smell in a sweet fashionable way, moms will have to pay about $45 for a 50-ml bottle in a peach-coloured box, featuring a lovely Putto.

Of course, the target audience here is not kids, but their mothers—fashionistas, who want to make their fashion preferences spread across not only their wardrobes and vanity tables, but their babies’ lives too. Burberry and Bulgari have released their quite costly perfume products for mamas and babies, too. Win them young.
