Estée Lauder Introduces Super-Limited-Edition Make-Up Collection Inspired by Expressionist Otto Dix

Estée Lauder, the well-known cosmetic brand, is tapping into art by collaborating with Neue Gallery New York. The make-up and fragrance manufacturer is introducing two limited-edition products dedicated to the first-ever solo exhibition of Otto Dix’s works in the USA, which is slated for March.

Paintings by the expressionist German artist, one of The New Objectivity followers, inspired the brand to create a narrow range of make-up products including a crimson lipstick called Berlin Red, which will be presented in a bullet-shaped gold case, and a Bauhaus-style mirror compact in red, gold and black colours.

The brand has decided to choose Neue Gallery because the museum was conceived by art dealer Serge Sabarsky and his friend, art collector and Ronald S. Lauder, Estée’s son. In 2006 the company bought ‘Adele Bloch-Bauer I’ by Gustav Klimt for the gallery for as much as $135 million dollars, which was the biggest sum ever paid for a painting as for that time.

The line will be introduced at the exhibition, will be available only for a limited period of time and appear only at the museum’s gift shop.
