Facebook has launched the App Center today; the service that was announced in May is already available in the U.S. offering users more than 600 free Facebook apps iOS, Android, and the web. In future, the Center will introduce paid apps as well.

There are various apps in different categories—Games, Entertainment, Lifestyle, Music. The first popular apps include Spotify, Nike GPS+ Mobile, Foodspotting, Pinterest, and games like Jetpack Joyride and Ghost Recon Commander.
Users can easily choose what they need and after the installation apps will appear on their Timelines. Facebook thoroughly selected quality apps, which can be accessed by clicking the ‘AppCenter’ tab on the left side of the Facebook site. The App Center will recommend you apps depending on what kind of apps you and your friends already use.
Facebook App Center doesn’t compete with app stores from Google or Apple. On the contary, it will provide more traffic for them. “Whenever a mobile app requires a download, users will be sent to the respective install page in the Apple App Store or Google Play,” wrote Bruce Rogers, Facebook programmer in a blogpost.
Each app can be downloaded from the above mentioned web sites and installed to your Timeline on computer or on mobile. Though there are more than 4,500 Timeline apps available, the App Center only has Facebook-selected apps, says ABC News.
