Facebook starts to activate Timeline for its more than 850 million users worldwide. The new profile view was first announced at f8 conference in September.

«Timeline gives you an easy way to rediscover the things you shared, and collect your most important moments. It also lets you share new experiences, like the music you listen to or the miles you run. Starting today, timeline is now available everywhere,» says Facebook blog.

Once activated, Timeline will show user profiles as a visualized line starting from birth and reflecting important events in one’s life with the help of relevant pictures, videos and so on. Supporting everybody’s right for privacy and understanding that some people may feel embarrassed demonstrating their entire life to others, Facebook will give all users 7 day grace period allowing to remove unwanted pictures, status updates and other content they would not want to show in their Timeline.

To see how it works and run Timeline right now one needs to get to this page and click ‘Get it now’ button. In the coming weeks the button will appear at the top of current profile views.

Starting today, timeline will also be available on Android and m.facebook.com.
