Ford is inviting European bloggers from non-auto areas of expertise to test its new Ford EcoSport SUV for six months. The bloggers from all sorts of areas including music, fashion, food and sport industries are to drive the vehicle for this period of time and share their experiences on social media as part of the “EcoSport Live!” campaign.
In their reviews, bloggers from 10 European countries will focus on the new in-car connectivity system Ford SYNC with AppLink. It allows the drivers to activate apps from Spotify, Radioplayer and Audioteka with their voice only, without taking their hands off the wheel. The new vehicle is already on sale in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.
To support the launch of the car, Ford is arranging a huge music event, in Barcelona at at 21:00 CET on February 26. The gig will include performances by 10 aspiring European music artists including Mickael Miro, Nina Zilli, and Natalie McCool to name a few. The event will be live-streamed on the Ford Europe YouTube Channel. There will also be special “EcoSport Live!” events in each of the 10 countries throughout the year—the program includes local challenges and celebrity drives, says the press release.
“We’re excited about ‘EcoSport Live!’ because it puts our new EcoSport SUV and SYNC with AppLink in the hands of some of the most creative and socially connected people in Europe and they decide what they create and share,” said Roelant de Waard, vice president of marketing, sales and service, Ford of Europe. “A concert with 10 great up-and-coming new acts that is available to everyone online is a great way to kick off ‘EcoSport Live!’”
