Gillette Taps Three ‘Masters of Style’ to Promote the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler

The male international grooming brand Gillette celebrates diversity of facial hair styles by launching a new campaign, featuring three new brand ambassadors, musician and fashion designer André 3000 Benjamin, actors Gael García Bernal and Adrien Brody, who have their own authentic styles. The celebrities will help the brand present Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler, a new 3-in-1 styling tool for men with facial hair (only in North America there are nearly 40 percent of them) who regularly use multiply items such as trimmers, razors and scissors to keep their hair style as it should be. The new tool is designed to simplify this boring and complicated routine.

The new product was developed at Procter&Gamble by a team of scientists from two major grooming brands, Braun and Gillette—they created a solution that combines “Braun’s trimming technology with Gillette’s most advanced blade technology helping men trim evenly, shave closely and edge accurately” as the press release states. In addition to the new tool, P&G will also launch non-foaming Fusion ProGlide Clear Shave Gel with a masculine fragrance that is perfect for accurate grooming. The new products will hit stores across North America in the beginning of February—the styler will have a suggested retail price of $19.99 and shave gel will be sold at $3.99.

Modern male style icons André 3000 Benjamin, Gael García Bernal and Adrien Brody, will front the new marketing campaign, which will kick off in early February 2012 and include TVCs and prints, digital media and PR. The three ambassadors will represent ‘Masters of Style,’ «true facial hair stylers who have tremendous talent, a strong sense of self, depth of character, and authentic style.»

I feel that personal style should always reflect who you are and be constantly evolving,” commented American artist (hip-hop duo Outkast) and fashion designer André 3000 Benjamin, who was named ‘Best New Designer of the Year’ by GQ Magazine in 2009 and got in GQ’s Top 25 of ‘Most Stylish Men in the World’ in 2010. “Whether in front of the camera or in the director’s chair, I think it is important for creativity and character to come through. I’m glad to be able to help guys celebrate their own sense of style and individuality,” stated Adrien Brody, currently the youngest actor to receive Academy Award for Best Actor. “While I play many different roles in movies, I think it is important to be true to yourself when showing up to the outside world,” added Gael García Bernal, the celebrated Mexican actor.
