If you don’t know what to give your friends as a present on a great occasion, give them a gift card. Just in time for the upcoming holiday season, Google enters the gift card field by launching a bunch of certificates, which can be a great solution for those who are ran out of gift ideas. The Google Play gift cards will be available in the US only over the coming weeks, and so far the company doesn’t say if it’s going to expand it to other countries soon.

According to the official website of the service, the cards are available in $10, $25, and $50 denominations and can be used for purchasing all kinds of virtual entertainment goods from the store, including songs, movies and TV shows, eBooks, extra levels for Android apps and games, add-on packs, and virtual currency. The new service, which was launched in March 2012 and combined Google’s online stores, is definitely gaining momentum and taking on Apple iTunes Store, its major competitor—now, Android-device owners can enjoy their pre-paid cards just like those who own i-products.
The Google Play gift cards will be available for sale at Target, RadioShack, and GameStop across the USA, and will arrive to Walmart.com later this month. To use Google Play Gift Card and, consumers will be asked to create an account at wallet.google.com.
