Grant’s 12 YO has launched an exclusive project “Grant’s. The Book of Great Discoveries.” Under the project Grant’s in cooperation with Afisha Publishing House will draft and publish an exclusive edition of the book with over 30 stories of inventions which seem to be very simple but which people cannot live without.
The genius of simplicity is the basic concept of the book. All the invention ideas seem to be absolutely obvious. The only thing which had to be done by the inventors was to discover a different angle, what Grant’s founders once did. The things and their history Grant’s is telling about are so practical, obvious and simple that it seems they have always existed.
“When making this book we aimed to attract the readers’ attention to regular things, which decorate our life, make it brighter, richer and deeper, as well as to the those who gave these things to us thanks to their ingenuity and ability to look at the world at a different angle,” says Grant’s Marketing Manager Rowan Leibbrandt. “The basic recipe of Grant’s whisky uses just four ingredients – water, malt, wood and time, however inspiration and expertise of our masters make them into a complex Scotch whisky of exceptional richness.”
There are the first 10 stories available at www.grantsbook.ru, which tell you how a cardigan, cuff links, sunglasses, a coat hanger and other important little things were invented.
The website interface is user-friendly and interactive: a user can choose the wallpaper, leaf through the book, vote for the inventions the like the best as well add their own one. Facebook Connect, which is integrated into the interactive intro to the site, lets the users be among the inventors of the simple and genius things. You just need to click once.
The full version of the Grant’s book will have a limited edition of 350 copies and be presented to the mass media in late September. A quotation of a famous person will follow each of the 30 inventions to emphasize their significance or yet ironic nature.
The book design should be paid special attention to as the book will be printed on cotton paper with copyrighted illustrations and a dust jacket to emphasize its unique character.
