The world-wide known Heinz brand, a producer of ketchup, beans and sauces, is turning 140, and in connection with this great event the company is arranging a great art exhibition. There will be a collection of ten completely new works, all of which have an emblem of Tomato Ketchup.
Though the story of the company started with horse-radish in a transparent glass packaging (that was quite revolutionary as at those times the product was usually sold in dark jars and buyers couldn’t see what they took), the brand became famous for making tomato products.
The art pieces were painted by modern artists Jérôme Mesnager, Artiste Ouvrier, Mosko & associés, Jef Aerosol and Jean-Luc Dubin among others. Their creations will be seen at French Artcurial from December 15, 2009 and then be bought at the auction, which will be opened on December 20. The revenues will go to the SOS Villages d’Enfants association.
