In partnership with Evernote, a note-taking and achieving service, Honda Silicon Valley Lab (HSVL), an R&D division of Honda in the U.S., establishes the “Honda Innovation Award” within the 2013 Evernote Devcup international 6-month competition that combines in-person and virtual events, encouraging developers to create new apps on the Evernote platform. Continuing to spread its philosophy of innovation, Honda will be awarding participants for the development of applications “that make personal mobility more enjoyable and memorable,” states the press note.

The entrants to the Honda Award are required to develop mobility-related apps that can be incorporated into a Honda experimental car, designed as a contemporary vehicle with app-based capabilities allowing for better mobility experience. Submissions are accepted from April 10 through June 28, 2013. Other categories of the 2013 Evernote Devcup, which launched this Sunday, include Business, Design/Inspiration, Education/Research, Food/Cooking, Paperless, Productivity, Sports/Fitness, and more.
It is expected that the current Evernote Devcup will attract over 2,000 participants, who will contribute over 200 apps over the next months. The winners from the Honda Innovation Award category will be selected in mid-August, and then they will continue to compete with the winners from the other categories at the San Francisco Evernote Conference Devcup finals, slated for late September.
“The Evernote Devcup brings together teams from all over the world to create inspired integrations with the Evernote platform. Partnering with HSVL will give Devcup participants the very cool opportunity to develop for Honda’s concept mobility experience. We are very excited to see the what the intersection of Honda innovation and Evernote will bring to Devcup,” commented Seth Hitchings, VP of Platform Strategy for Evernote.
