Unilever’s Marmite spread has launched a promotional campaign based on the idea of parliament elections. The famous British product has founded the Love and Hate parties, which use a lot of “facts” to prove that the product is extremely good or disgustingly bad.
The war of opinions broke out at marmitenewsnetwork.com, and there visitors can find out more information about the product and join one of the parties by voting. The Facebook fan-pages have the programmes of the rival groups and very realistic biographies of their leaders.
The aim of the Love Party is to Spread the Love of Marmite, first across Britain and then all over the globe. It believes that every man, woman and child loves Marmite even if they don’t know about it yet. This product should be on the menu at schools and hospitals due to the fact that it’s full of B vitamins.
The mission of the Hate Party is to Stop the Spread of Marmite. Britain must cut down on its production and consumption and over some time terminate it. The product is totally evil as it destroys the human body and environment.
The campaign was developed by DDB London and AKQA.
