The eco-fashion accessories company Ecoist has signed a licensing agreement with Mars Retail Group. By the terms of this agreement, Ecoist will manufacture a line of handbags made from the packaging of Mars products including M&M’s, Skittles, Twix, Snickers and Starburst brands.

«While certain customers will be fascinated with the bags that clearly show iconic brands like M&M’s brand, our fashion-sensitive consumers will be happy to show off the colors and symbols of the brand displayed in a more sophisticated, subtle manner,” says Jonathan Marcoschamer — the Ecoist co-founder.

Companies plan to utilize about 5 million wrappers in the first year of the partnership. All handbags will be released in limited collections which will range from from $22 to $158 and will be sold at the Ecoist official website and through the company’s distribution network of over 2 000 retailers including gift stores, lifestyle stores and boutiques.
