Microsoft Has Rolled out Its First Ever Global Ad Campaign

Microsoft has rolled out its first ever global ad campaign aimed to advertise the latest company’s products. The campaign is created to demonstrate Windows, Windows Phone, Xbox for Kinect and Office Microsoft incorporated in a family circle.

The campaign with an investment of over £5.5 million includes activity across TV and digital media and will run until the end of January across 35 countries including UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. It has been created by the US ad agency Crispin Porter + Bogusky.

In the ads Microsoft showcases the possibilities of its last year’s products such as Windows Phone and Kinect. Supported by software, Windows and Office, it gives consumers an opportunity to interact with their family members in a fun and inspiring way.

The first advert shows the connectivity of Microsoft’s suite of products and their integration on consumers’ everyday lives through a ‘dad dancing’ to Dance Central 2 on Xbox 360 Kinect and his children watching it and sharing it with friends on the web with help of the Windows Phone and Windows software.

The second ad features a boy who explains his parents why they should have a dog using Power Point. Both ads share the tagline ‘it’s a good time to be a family’ and an idea that «it all starts with the Windows 7 PC».

By the way, the date of the official release of the Windows 8 is not known yet but it has already been presented at the Build developer’s conference in September.

Paul Davies, Director of Marketing Communications at Microsoft UK wrote in a post on Microsoft Advertising blog: “We want to help consumers understand how to get the most out of their technology. We are focused on creating technology that makes special moments possible, and even makes life easier. Not only is the technology there today, working together to help people stay connected, but people are growing to expect it. Heading into the Christmas buying season is the perfect time for us to amplify these messages with consumers.”
