NASA Will Premiere will.i.am’s New Song from Mars

To educate students about Mars, NASA partners with musician will.i.am to present his new song ‘Reach for the Stars’. The new potential hit will be broadcast from the Mars surface via the Curiosity rover tomorrow, on August 28 at 1 p.m. at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif. The event will air on NASA TV at http://www.nasa.gov/ntv.

Earlier this month the rover was landed on the Red planer surface by the NASA team members and the process of the transmission will be also explained to students as part of the music project. will.i.am, who is passionate about space projects will then premiere his new composition about devoted to science, technology and space exploration. The new song may become a bonus track on his upcoming album ‘#willpower.’ The musician has also collaborated with iconic brands—with Coca-Cola’s ECOCYCLE initiative and Intel’s Ultrabook project.

The project is supported and being promoted by will.i.am’s i.am.angel Foundation, in partnership with Discovery Education of Silver Spring, Md., a provider of digital resources to kindergarten through grade 12 classrooms. The organizations will provide information on the new science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics initiative featuring NASA assets such as the Mars Curiosity Rover.

Mars has been explored by NASA since 1965. The improved technology and the NASA’s Curiosity rover now help scientists discover if Mars has ever been hospitable to life.
