Copies of the publication in Spanish or Catalan will be available in public hospitals, private health centers and cancer associations in the Spanish region of Catalonia. The guide will be extended to other regions in Spain later.

The guide published also online was created with help of nutrition and cancer experts that gave diet and nutrition advice for oncology patients. Nestlé Health Science worked closely with the guide’s author Clara Joaquim, a specialist doctor for the Clinical Nutrition and Diet Unit at the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital in eastern Catalonia.

The aim of the guide is to help patients reduce the negative influence of chemotherapy and radiotherapy such as loss of muscle mass or weakening of the immune system.

Established in 2011, Nestlé Health Science is committed to develop science-based personalized nutritional solutions, especially for people with specific dietary needs.

Nestlé Health Science has access to external scientific and technological know-how through Nestlé’s innovation network as well as a number of venture capital funds in which the group has interests.
