New Tango Halloween Packaging Designed by Blue Marlin

Tango, the brand famous for bringing a bit of slap and tickle to the soft drinks sector, is about to bring its distinctive, edgy sense of fun to Halloween. Bring on the Zombies and a little thriller in the chiller.

The limited edition bottles and cans with added muahahahaha were created by Blue Marlin and are beginning to roll out this week. They are the brainchild of Blue Marlin designer Gavin Halford. They will be in national distribution in September to ensure that everyone can get ready for fright night.

There are different zombies for classic orange, apple and cherry flavours, all bearing the legend «Tango turned me into a zombie». This underpins Tango’s current advertising theme that drinking Tango has side effects.

The limited editions will only be available until the beginning of November and are bound to be a talking point among teenagers and young adults.

Adam Goodger, senior brand manager for Tango at Britvic Soft Drinks comments: «Tango has always been a brand that dares to be different. The zombies are great and completely in keeping with Tango’s out there, irreverent personality. Limited editions keep our consumers entertained and engaged and enable us to stay a teen icon.»

A spokeswoman for Blue Marlin describes the project as a great example of the power of packaging as media. «Our designs look greatthey really leap out at you on shelf. Exploiting the power of packaging is a really savvy way of communicating with an audience that is notoriously difficult to engage.»
