Nike pays tribute to the art of surfing by releasing a new film ‘Leave A Message’ in a month, on May 24 at www.nike6.com/leaveamessage. The sportswear manufacturer which is known for its strong dedication to spread the sport culture and celebrate the professional athletes as well as amateurs through a range of its projects, this time focuses on women surfing. The movie, which will be launched under the Nike 6.0 action sports brand’s banner, is all about 6 girls from the USA and Australia and who can subdue the almighty waves in the most elegant way ever seen.
“This generation of girls commands much more than simple recognition. These six unique surfers are changing the sport. They turn heads and make jaws drop. They love life, and it shows. Together they embody all that women’s surfing has become. Leave A Message is a true testament of just how much this generation of surfers has changed their spot. This is a performance surf film, with an emphasis on performance. But beyond the groundbreaking aerials and long barrels, is a message that transcendent well beyond the lineup: they enjoy what they do and do it to the fullest. Unintentionally, they wrote a new script for women’s surfing. Deliberately, they’ve left their message,” states the description to the upcoming video.
The movie, which was shot over two years at the world’s most beautiful surf locations including Australia, California, Hawaii and Mexico, features Carissa Moore (HI), Lakey Peterson (CA), Laura Enever (AUS), Coco Ho (HI), Monyca Byrne-Wickey (HI), and Malia Manuel (HI)—before the premiere, users can visit the project’s hub and learn about the girls from long interviews (to read them, just click on the lady).
“I’m surrounded by surfing all day, every day and I see a lot of great riders. But what these girls are doing has to be seen to be believed,” comments ‘Leave A Message director’ and Nike 6.0’s surf team photographer Jason Kenworthy.
