Olmeca ALTOS: 100% Agave Taste

Pernod Ricard‘s Olmeca is launching a new addition to its portfolio. Olmeca ALTOS tequila is produced of 100% blue agave to satisfy the refined taste of connoisseurs and aesthetes, who know what real quality and exclusiveness mean.

The name of the drink derives from «Los Altos» (Spanish for «highlands»), a dale where the best blue agave in Jalisco grows. Agave juice is extracted with the help of a traditional Tahon method – by squeesing it out with a huge volcanic rosk millsone, and then distilled in small copper cauldrons.

The taste of Olmeca ALTOS was developed by a group of London mixologists, including Henry Besant, Andres Masso and Charles Vexenat, who brought the Olmeca ALTOS formula to pure perfection. Thanks to the improvements they’ve introduced to the recipe, the drink was awarded Gold Medal at San Francisco Spirits Competition 2009.

The precise product deserves the best packaging, and it got it. The round stopper and a low bottle performed in the American Indian style, as well as the iconic ornament, which is imitating letters in the stone, and the angular shape, which is used in all Olmeca product packaging, give nod to the heritage of ancient Olmec, who were the first to produce tequila.
