«My friend, a professional photographer, said blind people do take photos with their sense of hearing, smell and touch. I was deeply moved and that was the start,» Kate Oh, vice president-executive creative director of Cheil said in an email interview with Ad Age.

Participants of the exhibition co-worked with professional photographer Kang Young-ho who taught them how to take photos using different senses—hearing, smell and touch. Then students used special cameras that automatically track and capture the subject of a photo and use the smile recognition technology.

The result turned out to be amazing as the inspired children made the photos intuitively. The photos featuring mostly nature were made on Jeju island, a volcanic island off the coast of South Korea.

Samsung and Cheil are intended to continue the project in future. Cheil commented that the exhibit «shows Samsung Electronics’ philosophy—technology makes people happy.»

Currently, Samsung is searching for bloggers who will cover the Olympic Games worldwide.
