Toyota has launched a cutting-edge film featuring the latest projection-mapping techniques to showcase the unique Hybrid technology now available inside its new Auris. The film, developed by advertising agency glue Isobar, is designed to portray the vehicle’s extraordinary ability to constantly recycle the energy it uses. The 3D projection shows the car transforming; its bodywork peeling back to reveal a glowing blue light which symbolizes the car’s Hybrid energy.

Microsoft Corp. joined its partners to reveal nine new Windows Phone 7 handsets that will be available this holiday season from leading mobile operators in Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. With more than 60 mobile operators including AT&T, Deutsche Telekom AG, O2, Orange, Telstra, T-Mobile USA and Vodafone in over 30 countries worldwide committed to bringing Windows Phones to market, the millions of people around the world looking for a phone that plays as hard as it works will have a variety of phones from leading device-makers to choose from.

Samsung collaborated with The Viral Factory to develop two projects, revolving around durability of the manufacturer’s SD memory cards. The first one is a promotional film, which proves that the product is ‘magnet-proof, shockproof and waterproof’ by testing it in the harshest environments imaginable, and the second one is an unprecedented initiative, under which the cards will be send into the stratosphere.

The idea of promoting products through a series of reality-TV episodes was recently employed by Philips and became the basis of its romantic online-only comedy videos to preview a series of new range. The concept is now taken up by another global company, Samsung, which has launched a website called SmartnSimple.tv to spread the word about its domestic appliances and offer internet-savvy UK consumers lots of ‘smart and simple’ tips on how to turn daily routine into enjoyable experience.

Samsung has created a new viral video, which focuses equally on the brand’s products and on music. The company teamed up with OK, a popular viral band with a plethora of fans, to help them create a new clip for their single «Last Leaf,» from the album «Colour Of The Blue Of The Sky» using its new camera Samsung NX100. Along with the new video, they launched an interactive online hub and a series of 5 episodes describing how the clip was made and inspiring others to make their own crazy things just like they did.

With the school season already kicked off, Microsoft’s Bing web search engine launched an educational website, REDU, aimed at empowering teachers and everybody concerned with the issue to have a national conversation around education reform. They are encouraged to connect, communicate through initiatives and, being inspired by others’ examples, improve this sphere with concrete actions, ranging from planting a learning garden to taking up a volunteer job.

Coca-Cola, IBM, Microsoft and Google lead Interbrand‘s 11th annual ranking of the «Best Global Brands.»  Google (#4) sees a 36% increase in value over last year, bringing the brand closer than ever to rival Microsoft (#3). HP (#10) enters the top 10 for the first time, having increased brand value under a new business model and brand platform. For the 11th year straight, Coca-Cola (#1) retains its top spot as the number one ranked brand on the list.
