The Design Business Association, the UK organization that measures and rates the effectiveness of design in a range of categories by using commercial data to evaluate the success, announced the winners of its annual Design Effectiveness Awards, which included projects by leading design agencies. The ceremony, which was held in London on February 16, brought together 450 industry leaders, who received 62 gold, silver and bronze trophies, awarded by the association this year in 12 categories.
The judges considered only the projects, which “demonstrated design’s tangible effect on a client’s business,” so agencies had to provide a clear proof of the fact that their design solution helped the clients to solve their business problems. The DBA also builds a chart of the agencies, which create the most effective design projects, based on the number of points they collect (Gold = 15, Grand prix = +10, Silver = 10, International Export Award = +5, and Bronze = 5). For the second consecutive year, Elmwood takes the lead, followed by Pearlfisher, The Team, Good and BrandOpus (the list also includes Blue Marlin, BrandHouse, Lewis Moberly, Coley Porter Bell and others) Some of the winning projects are listed below (one of the Award recipients for each, except Packaging), the full list is here.
